Inappetance in Cabergoline cats?

It's probably just my cat but his appetite has been poor lately... I put this in another post but here it is from the Colombian study of three cats... anybody else have a kitty with a bad appetite on Cabergoline?

Anyway I found it in the study of three cats... now my cut and pasting won't work... it will only paste the whole condo and not the words I wanted to paste... which said that on page 320 of that study that I believe I recently got from @Diane and Kierra that one of the cats had inappetance and his/her dose had to be adjusted.

@Larry and Kitties how is Snuffles doing? No problems with appetite? I'm sure it's just me and my weird cat. Just my luck... but we all have bad luck and when you have as many cats as I do it's bound to happen. I take Darcy back to the vet tomorrow. Normally when he quits eating it's a high white count. We have no idea why... give antibiotics..... he does better. I'm will take him to rule this out... after that, I may adjust his cabergolnie dose.... which I hate to do since his BG numbers have recently become much better.

Howie is still eating like a horse. I hope you can get to the bottom of it. Not eating normally can be so scary! Big hugs!

Just for anyone in the future, we have inappetence here as well. I'll edit this post once it resolves; started Day 2 on can and currently.on Day 6.

I posted this the day before I found out that my baby, Darcy, had serious kidney disease. I believe that the kidney disease and his high BUN and Creatinine and Phosphorus was the cause of his poor appetite because when he first started Cabergoline.

Good to know! At first I thought it might be pancreatitis, I suppose it still might be, or something else. Haven't had bloodwork since October.

It has also affected my Tank's appetite, but today, when he had horrible diarrhea, I realized why!
Hey. You should realize that when I wrote this post my cat was going into kidney failure. That was the real cause of his inappetance. He had done really well on Cabergoline. He had diarrhea one day on it when first starting it. After that he was fine. His high BUN, creatinine, phosphorus, etc were making him feel unwell so he wasn’t eating. There are some people who do have cats who become inappetant on Cab. I believe in one study they switched the cat to every other day dosing.

Right. But I'm pretty sure that his is because his gut was unhappy. I actually misspoke... He's been on it 8 days... I counted the remaining pills, and 8 have been administered, and I was thinking twice a day dosing, so I said 4 days. But I only give it once a day, so he's been on it 8 days. He's normally a very big eater, and almost immediately, he started acting a little different and not wanting to eat. I noticed it right away and I wondered if it was upsetting his stomach. He does need to have a tooth pulled, but I'm afraid of the anesthesia due to his heart disease, and the rescue that actually "owns" him can't afford to have a dental done by the dental specialist with the added cost of an anesthesiologist... Which would be the safest way to have it done... Anyway, I give him antibiotics 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, to keep it from hurting, and maybe the clindamycin exacerbated the diarrhea. However, it hasn't upset his GIT before. Maybe I'll wait and restart cabergoline when I end this round of antibiotic, and do every other day.

And, I'll add probiotics now.
