Inaccurate Syringe Markings?

I changed over to BD Microfine Demi syringes yesterday (previously used UltiCare Vet, bought overseas) as these are the only ones I can access in Australia with half unit markings. I have always dosed by the top of the black plunger, but on the BD syringes, this appears to be around 0.5 units above the zero line.

Are these inaccurate markings or am I supposed to dose this brand by the bottom part of the top black plunger, as this is the part that lines up with the zero line? I’ve opened 10 needles and they are all like this! I’m confused if I just dose normally or not.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry just seeing this. I haven’t used syringes since Sheba died. And I was unaware you could now buy half unit syringes in Australia. I campaigned to get companies to get them into Australia years ago but had no luck.
Could you tell me when they can be sourced please Cloe so I can add that to the Australian info sheet. Thanks!!!

I bought them from here. It came from the UK but arrived in 7 days. 😊

Amazon does deliver the UltiCare Vet syringes to Australia too but you can’t purchase them within Australia. I ordered these overseas and they delivered to my home so I was disappointed that I couldn’t reorder when I know they do deliver here. However, if any members do know someone overseas who can order them on your behalf, they will deliver to us in Australia so are another option. I much preferred these to the BD ones.
