I haven't posted on this forum in a really long time....
I usually post in the Lantus/Lev forum but thought here would be a better place to ask this:
My Jubalee has been acting different the past half hour, and it's gotten worried. She's usually always hungry, and after I changed her litter box she's been acting not herself.
I had to really coax her into eating a teaspoon of her feed with lots of water, in between her regular meals, fearing she may be heading into DKA.
I'm worried.
What should I do???
Advice??
Her AMPS was 329 and she was 193/+3. She is on 1.25 units of Lantus.
I'm going to try and get a ketone test in here shortly.
I just got a ketone test and it was negative at +4.5

Is she dehydrated? (see my signature link Secondary Monitoring Tools for how to check).
Can you massage her abdomen or does she seem painful? (possible sign of pancreatitis)
Do you see any signs of infection - mucous buildup? red gums? other?
Does any of the skin, or whites of the eyes seem yellowy (jaundiced)?

If dehydrated, or painful, or sick, or jaundiced, go to the vet.

She seems fine now, just drooling a little more than usual.
She was grooming herself and playing.
I'm visiting my family currently and she stays in my room upstairs most days, but I let her out occasionally with supervision.
I did get her to eat her lunch, but was coaxing her quite a bit.
Today she may have gotten into some dry food (ugh) that was left out for my parent's cats. But this was [after] the episode earlier today....
I'm hoping she doesn't have terrible high numbers, but am not expecting her numbers to be perfect either...
It was an accident, I was upstairs cleaning and forgot there was dry food in the house.

Your SS shows very good BGs not long ago. Has anything changed since then?
When was the last time Juballe went to the vet?
I really am stumped about her coming out of remission. Nothing changed with her diet or living conditions, so I guess she just wanted to be a diabetic on insulin again, lol.
She's recebtly had a dose increase of 0.25 units, but it appears to be taking her numbers into the greens so it looks like it may be working...for now.
Jubalee just went to the vet last week for a quick health checkup and health certificate to fly, but I decided to stay longer with my family and am driving back sometime next month.
Juba hasn't had a blood panel since May, and everything was normal.
She's acting pretty much the same as usual now, I'm not sure what was going on earlier. I'll post an update if anything changes for dinner tonight.
