My vet has decided that she should get hazardous duty pay for dealing with me. I can't bring myself to follow her directions. I gave Oliver 1U of Lantus this morning and his BG went down to 61 at +8. It is now back up to a pre-injection reading of 148. My vet told me to give him the insulin if his BG was above 75, but I can't bring myself to do it. His BG tends to spike over night, but I think that is because I give him prednisolone at night. I am going to skip the pred tonight to see if it has an impact. I'll give it to him in the morning so I can see if there is a spike during the day.
I know I should follow my vet's instructions, but I am all alone here and have no one to help me (or even give me moral support) if he goes hypo.
