I actually registered an account here just for this post. I have a cat , Mr. Mcpoop, that was posting same numbers as you were for the longest time. In fact, I was popping in and out of this board checking your posts to see if Larry was getting better since I almost tied my cat's own health to yours (you look for hope anywhere you can when your best friend in the world is sick).
Mcpoop was diagnosed in late November and my vet immediately started him on 1u twice a day and a classic Fancy Feast diet. 2 weeks went by and he didn't budge from preshots of 350-400ish so we pushed him to 1.5u. Another 2 weeks, same numbers. 2u...another month went by...same numbers. 2.5u....another 2 months went by...same numbers. I was so frustrated. I googled insulin resistance, Cushings, chronic pancreatitis....I'm sure you know since you are going through it. You think of everything that can possibly be wrong and double it.
We got to 3u and it was like he burst through a wall and his pancreas sprang to life and started working on it's own. It happened that fast. He's now been in remission for over a week. 95-120 tests steady throughout the day.
I just wanted to let you know, I thought I would see some sort of progression, increased dosage and he would decrease his BG steady until we found that perfect level. Not so. He did not budge from the 300s until we hit the magic dose.
Keep your head up. Larry will get there.
