My civie Simon has IBD. He has been on prescription hydrolyzed protein food for a couple months and has gained some of his weight back.

Does anyone know of a similar site to FDMB that focuses on IBD in cats? I know there is the Facebook group for feeding raw food for IBD cats. However I am looking for a site that has different diet options and general information like this site has. Simon is getting tired of the prescription food and I would like to get him off of it too since it is high in carbs. I understand ECID even with IBD and am trying to research all of the options that may work for him.

My civvie, Gizmo, has IBD. I was feeding him a raw diet and still do occasionally but I have limited options for purchasing novel raw proteins locally. He's doing exceptionally well on novel proteins -- I use ZiwiPeak venison or lamb. (I was using their lamb and rabbit combination but they discontinued it.) Gizmo doesn't tolerate chicken or turkey. He does OK with Stella & Chewy's Duck, Duck, Goose which he gets a few pellets of the freeze dried raw.

I think the FB Raw Feeding for IBD Cats is a very knowledgeable group if you have a question other than one that relates to diet. I think @Wendy&Neko may know of another group.

This is another site https://www.ibdkitties.net/ with some overlap with the Raw Feeding site. They have a FB group associated with them, but I haven't joined it.

You can cook raw with some of the premixes (like FoodFurLife) if you want to. My current girl has both IBD and SCL. She can't do fish, beef, venison, red meats, and just limited chicken. Can do but got bored of lamb and rabbit. Can but doesn't want to eat pork by itself. Right now her diet is "what she will eat" that involves turkey, duck, quail. Of course, what she will eat varies over time. :banghead:
