I want to type a separate condo, and thank at least 1 member (possibly more) on this board for really insisting on getting the very important tests the first couple of hours after the morning PS is administered.

Thank you very much, Sienne, for really insisting that this be done by each and every one of us. Those words have stuck in my head, and I'm glad that I listened to you. It's for reasons like this morning's +2 test that I just got from Blackie that makes it all the more imperative that it's done. Had I NOT done that over the past few months or so, we wouldn't have earned dose reductions, and quite possibly she would've gotten into really low #s, and I wouldn't have been here to take care of her IF had left to do shopping, errands, or whatever. (btw.. Typing this with a headache that I've had for the past few days, so please forgive my lack of grammar).

In the beginning, I didn't do this as much, but now I am, and I'm extremely glad that I am. It's really worth staying here for at least 1 hour or more to monitor her before I leave the house. (Just need 2 more #s below 50, and she gets another dose reduction to 1u!!!) :-D

Thank you, all. :-D And God bless you all, too.

Well said Angela! I could not agree more. It is one of those test times I adhered to religiously, due to Sienne's influence, and Libby's, and Jill's. That test, the +2 has saved me many a time. You can add that +11, just before a PS test is done can be equally as valuable too. I owe Sienne for that one too. Thanks to all of you that do what you do.

And Angela - I hope you feel better soon.

Very well said, Angela! I give thanks every day for Sienne and all of the experienced and not-so-experienced members who share their knowledge and time and enthusiasm so generously. :-D :-D :-D It's been a huge help for Zener and for us. Thank you!
Liz

i agree! it helps you get to understand your cat's cycles and is so important for safety. So nice of you to call Sienne out, too, because she's been helping on here for years and gives so very much. We're lucky to have her expertise.

Exactly!! IMO can't do too many tests in a day. The most I did was 18 (I had to sleep a bit) and several days were 10-12 which is why I was able to see how Davidson would be at all hours..........All I can say is whatever they say to do on here - DO IT!!! It's not for our benefit but for our cats.......so when they need us forget the laundry, dates, sleep, eating, and look after them as you would look after yourself.........

What a very, very lovely post, Angela. Not only because you are sharing your knowledge with new members but because you've given us all the chance to thank Sienne and her insistence on the +2 tests which has served many of us well. And Julie is right, she's been here for us for several years and we all owe a debt of gratitude for what she's taught us.

Heck..even now that Gracie is on lev, I still get a +2 because even with lev (which typically doesn't onset until +4 but Gracie didn't read the lev manual), that gives me info about Gracie's upcoming cycles.

And congrats on Blackie's great progress. You've done an awesome job with her.

Thank you all for the very kind words. They are especially meaningful given that my life is a bit upside down for the time being. Moving is incredibly stressful for me and the kitties. One of the things that most impressed me about LL is the culture of paying it forward. Many people here offer whatever help or support they are comfortable providing. It's what makes this Board a community and not just a place to post.

Sienne, you're most welcome. You have helped many people on here, and you continue to do so effortlessly. I can only hope that I can be as good as you one day. I'm sure that others feel the same way.

I pray that things that are going on in your life settle down soon so that you can relax, and hopefully get some time for yourself. Moving isn't fun. My DH and I were discussing moving, but that's not in the works, and we're not sure if it will be in the near future.

Hang in there. Things will only get better from here. :-D

Amy, you're right, and as someone said on here, you're also to be given thanks, as well as all the others that have helped anyone that has joined the board over the months, and years.

This board IS a family, even if we're not related. We all share joy when a kitty goes OTJ, feels better, etc., sorrow when we lose a beloved pet (Lord knows we've all seen our fair share and then some of this happening, and we've all been there), relief knowing that we're on the right track on managing our kitty's diabetes, etc., and everything else in between. I've seen this community grow over the years, and am amazed at how quickly people, even the newbies, have picked up on how to manage their kitty's diabetes. To be honest, had I not come across this board, Blackie wouldn't be here today.
