Linda and Scooter & Jack

Member Since 2012
:( Hi Folks:
Well here it is the day I have hoped would never happen. I have been testing both Scooter and Jack for 24 hrs now. Here are their numbers:
Tuesday
Scooter AMPS 279, +4 213, +7 263, PMPS 265
Jack AMPS 419, +4 335 +7 405, PMPS 399

Wednesday
Scooter AMPS 260, +3 255, +3 193
Jack AMPS 340, +3 342, +3 383

So I am going to continue the curve and I talked to my Vet and she is going to fit us in at the end of the day since she had no more appointments available for Scooter. I had one scheduled for Jack but it has been changed. I am so grateful for my Vet and her love of my kids! :D
I am also on a learning curve for this new FDMB board and not the smartest computer person. I have to say I am very sad right now. I never did start a SS for Jack and Scooters was made for me so I am going to continue on Scooters and try and figure out Jacks while I poke and wait for the Vet. I have also told everyone no visitors for the next 2 weeks so there will be no other unintended food access. I will be the only one feeding. Also I will have Jacks teeth looked at today Sienne. Great advice.

Any more advice is appreciated.

Linda

Sorry to hear that the honeymoon is over. I hope the dental does the trick or that more controlled feeding is the cure.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope there will be something that the vet finds to explain this - something easily treatable - and you don't have to start either of them on insulin.

Should that not be the case, there are lots of people here that can help you get new Spreadsheets set up!

Hi,
I am new to the forum but not to diabetes. My cat Sheba came out of remission and I am trying to get her back OTJ.
What struck me about your case is the fact the two cats both got high numbers at the same time. I haven't read your previous threads so I might be on the wrong track but that is a huge coincidence. Did either get into some forbidden food or do they have something like an illness which is raising their BSLs?
I hope you can get it sorted out and it is a simple solution for you.

I agree with Bron's observation. Both cats -- look for a common cause.

Another thing to keep in mind that BG is an incredible early warning system of an infection/inflammation. Could the kitties be brewing a UTI or a URI which is starting to play havoc with their numbers?

FYI - Marje is a wiz with spreadsheets. If you need help, send her a PM.

I'm sorry - that's gotta be disappointing. Let's hope it's something as simple as an infection + access to the contraband food and the kitties get back on track soon.
