Baby Cat is seriously carb addicted.
He sits and waits while the dog gets his food, hoping he knocks a piece out of the bowl.
One would think the empty bowl would be safe, but no, he tries to lick it out.
So I stand and wait while the dog eats, so I can quickly whisk the bowl away.
He's even started to put his nose in when I'm giving the dog his lactulose. It is, after all, a sugar solution.
Yesterday, I bagged up the remaining kibble we have to take to my boss. I set it by the back door, well out of reach.
BC climbed up there in the night, took the bag, dragged it into my son's bedroom, chewed through the plastic, and ate kibble.
I found out by the amounts of cat barf he left behind as evidence.
I know it was him because his blood sugar was almost 600 this morning, and he's returned to the spot he left the bag several times today to get more, only it's not there. It is in my car now.
So, I've decided there must be cat heroin in kibble. I knew he was carb addicted, but really didn't think he would go so far as to steal just to get himself a fix. But steal, he did.
Fortunately, I'm working from home today and can stick him often to see how his blood sugar goes down.
