Hello. My ss is a disaster. Please look at my ss and tell me what to do. I can not give the injections at +12 because the numbers are too small. I want to start TR, but I can not because the numbers does not help. Please give me an advice.

I'm not a Lantus expert but I know that you need to keep the same dose AM and PM for at least three days if you are trying TR. Also, the injections must be 12 hours apart. You've sometimes changed the dose and the timing. You don't have much data for a 1 unit dose which is generally recommended as a starting dose. Have you read the information on TR carefully? The guidelines for dosing are well explained.

Experienced people on TR will shoot anything above 50. I don't think you have that experience yet, but if you are home to be able to monitor you should be able to shoot at least low blues. That 117 tonight was shootable, because Bubulica was on the way up at that point. Feeding also raises the numbers, and then it takes a couple of hours for the Lantus to start to work. The data you just gathered showed you that if you had shot at +12, he would have been over 200 by the time the Lantus onset.

Please read the Sticky Note on Tight Regulation: Handling and Shooting Low Numbers. It will help you next time. Next time, you can always stall if you get a lower preshot that you are used to, DO NOT feed, and post here for help.

Kris is right, shooting 12 hours apart is best. If you delay too long, it's like giving a reduced dose so you end up with inconsistent dosing.

Hello Kris. Yes I have read the rules for TR, I printed the informations about TR protocol and I read them daily (starting dose - the formula is 0.25 unit per kg of the cat's ideal weight). I wanted to start today with TR, but the numbers not allowed to do it. I'm new here, and the truth is that I fear that I could be wrong. I can not give injections at values of 100, although the schedule may look like I can. Probably I'm going to do more tests, and I leave for another time the beginning of TR.
Thanks for the reply.

Hello . I understood what you said. I printed the Handling and Shooting Low Numbers tutorial and I read it and reread it. I do not understand the word "Stall" . Can you explain in other words please?. (my English is not too good, and google translate give dubious translations)

Stall means to wait without doing anything. No feeding, just wait to test again later. At the end of the cycle the numbers should start coming up.

Good. I understand . I think that I did. I expected higher numbers and I asked for help here, but it took about 2 hours until someone answer to my question.

When you get a number you aren't sure about shooting and no one is responding to you, look at the last test you got. If it was within about two hours, and the test at shot time is higher, it should be safe to shoot. If you still feel that shot time number is too low, don't feed and test again in 30 minutes, as Wendy said. If the new number is higher, you can shoot then. You don't need to wait an hour in between tests when you are stalling, which is what it looks like you did last night. That gets you way off schedule.

Don't worry, you will get more comfortable each time you deal with this situation. Sorry no one answered your condo.

:) Hi. I understand . I will try to do so. My experience is short, and my fear great. Thanks for the reply.
