Kahlua is due for her insulin in an hour. She's running very high I'm assuming due to Tresaderm for her ear infections. Should I up her dose or ride this out? She hasn't been this high in 4 years-before she was being treated for diabetes.

I tagged several members, I cannot give dosing advice but I do know that with ProZinc which Corky uses.:bighug:
I didn't give her the ear meds this a.m. I could give them tonight and then up her insulin dose. Or perhaps I could order the Zymox and leave her insulin alone.

@Sienne and Gabby (GA)
I tagged Sienne again, I wish I could answer your concern but I am not knowledgable enough to do so, wait a bit soñé members are coming home from work, I am sure that one of the members I tagged will plug in with you

I'm so sorry, Maria! She's normally as regular as can be. I know this is so distressing to you. Sending healing vines to Kahlua, and bumping you up to get some attention. FWIW, I bumped Jude up here recently as he's had higher numbers due to a UTI issue.

Yeah....these numbers are madness! She seems pretty normal though. Not as much playing....but she's an only cat so....maybe not odd for her....trying not to read into things!

Have you tested for Ketones, the UTI also spikes up the BG, our cats love to keep us on our toes, back around June Corky’s began to have spikes as well I took him to the vet after a check up and X-rays, he also had a very high fever, the tip of his ears were burning, he determined it was a UTI he gave him antibiotics a shot for fever, but the next morning his tooshie was bloody, and there were two holes next to his tooshie gushing gooie thick blood, I immediately took him back to the vet, he had a full glad that burst apparently the antibiotic shot he gave pushed out the infection, I’m saying this because there can be many factors we are not aware of and cats hide illnesses quite well, so yes keep testing perhaps you might want to do a curve tomorrow if you can, test every two hours for a cycle (12 hours) to really see where the spike is considering when and what he eats, again he has other issues I am not knowledgeable on, I am sure there will be a member that will be able to assist these concerns. I’ve been blessed that Corky has been very healthy, with the exception of the gland, he has never had any other issues, he is 12 yo. :cat: ;):bighug:
