como estáis? Perdona no he estado online, tengo problemas con mis ojos que me provocan problemas cuando uso el ordenador.
Es muy difícil saber lo que esta pasando con Cuki, nos hace falta mas datos de glucosa.
El problema es que si en un ciclo, baja mucho su glucosa, o si baja rapidamente o a nivels que ella no esta acostumbrado, su hígado entra en un estado de 'pánico', que resulta en una descarga de glucosa en la sangre, y asociada con una subida en niveles de glucosa, en efecto un rebote o 'bounce'. Este efecto puede durar normalmente, como máximo unos seis ciclos/ tres días. Y aquí es donde tenemos el problema si solo se hacen curvas una vez en semana. Por ejemplos si la curva se hace durante un periodo de rebote, podemos creer que hace falta mas insulina, cuando en realidad deberíamos mantener la dosis.
No es necesario hacer curva todo los dias, pero si seria muy preferible hacer las mediciones siempre antes de darle la insulina y si pudieses tambien una durante el ciclo, no importa mucho cuando, pero quizás como Prozinc, normalmente alcanza su punto mas bajo (nadir) alrededor de +6 yo empezaría por intentar obtener una medición entre +2 y +6. Esto te daría mucha mejor perspectiva de como le va con la dosis, ahora mismo es imposible saber con los datos que tienes. Veo que poco a poco estas haciendo mas mediciones, quizás, poco a poco va siendo mas fácil.
Con el tema del rebote, he visto algunos gatos donde una sobre dosis resulta en niveles de glucosa altos que parecen indicar una necesidad para mas insulina, cuando en realidad requieren una reducción en dosis. La única manera de saber con certidumbre si la dosis es demasiado alta para Cuki, o si le hace falta mas insulina es de obtener mas mediciones como he explicado.
Lo siento, se que te cuesta mucho medir la glucosa, porque Cuki es arisca y no colabora contigo.
Se que algunas compañeras aquí han tenido éxito usando una toalla y haciendo un 'burrito gatuno' cuando han tenido un gato poco colaborador, creo que hay un video por algún lado, pero no lo encuentro ahora mismo.

It is really difficult to know what is going on with Cuki's diabetes, we need more BG data.
The problem is that if her blood sugar drops a lot, or drops quickly or to levels she is not used to, her liver 'panicks' this results in the liver dumping glucose into the blood stream and this is associated with a raising of BG levels, we call this a 'Bounce'. This effect will normally last a maximum of six cycles/three days. This is where we have a problem if a curve is only run once a week. If the curve is run during this period of bounce, it may look like she needs more insulin, when in reality we should be maintaining a dose.
It is not necessary to run a curve every day, but it would be preferable to always measure BG before giving insulin and if you can also at least once during the cycl, it doesn't really matter when, but perhaps as Prozinc, usually reaches nadir at around +6 I would start by trying to get a BG test somewhere between +2 and +6, This would give a much better picture of how the dose is doing, right now it is imposible to know with the data you have. I am so sorry, I know that you have been finding it very difficult to test Cuki, she's fiesty and doesn't cooperate. I know of some fellow members who have had some success wrapping their cat in a towel, making a 'cat burrito' when they've had an uncooperative cat, there's a video somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.
