Hey all! Guess what! Here's what my vet said about the advice I got from you all:

"Wow! Mouse's numbers the last couple days are looking awesome! Since she was never overweight, and you got her blood sugar in a good range so quickly, I think she has a good chance of going into remission and being maintained on a low carb diet.

Keep us updated and hopefully we will see her in remission soon!"

    Hahahaaa :)

I did write a very well thought out email to her with a lot of links stating my case as well as letting her know I valued her and her input and time. So I'm sure that helped my case :) but yeah. My vet is pretty awesome.

Really glad to hear the discussion went so well, Allison! :cat:

Out of curiosity, did your vet make any mention of the change you made to Mouse's dosing?

She did not, but I made mention of my plan to drop her dose based on the TR method here, which I linked to her, and based on the reply she gave, it looks like she's totally on board with me taking the reins with all of your help. I can post the email I sent her, if that will help you?

Thanks for the reply, Allison. No need to post the email. I was just curious as to whether your vet would pass comment on the 'even' 0.75IU dosing vs. the 1.0IU AM / 0.5IU PM that they insisted on before.

I'm really glad to hear that you've got a great co-operative relationship with your vet; it makes such a difference. :)
