I have been dreading today (8-1) for a month now

At first I didn't worry that Jeddie would make it to the end of the summer, then I hoped he would make it to August. Why? Because August is the month in the FDMB 2012 calendar where his picture is. He is along with Beau, but also Musette and Maxwell. I had been so excited that they were all together on one page. They are quite a foursome with two orientals and two orange and whites, two long haired and two short haired... Now Musette and Jeddie are gone so unexpectedly. It breaks my heart for both of them all over again.

And his photo...

You all see the handsome kitty he was, but I know the day it was taken how good he felt and how happy he was. It was taken a few days after his birthday in 2011. I was so proud of who he had become and how well adjusted he was.

Mel, if you read this, know that I have been thinking of you and Musette just as much as I have about Jeddie as this month has approached. It still doesn't seem believable, does it?

BIG LOOOOOONG HUG Sheila....you're in my thoughts and prayers daily. I know how hard it is to lose one of them no matter what we try to do to 'fix it'...damn, it just hurts. I'm struggling today too so tears for you come even easier....Jeddie's such a lucky boy to have so much love. Yes he IS, not WAS - they're all right here on our shoulders trying to comfort us.

Mel - you too, Kim - you too, Stephanie - you too...and so many more,

Another big looooong hug,

Hugs for all of you! :YMHUG:

Any chance you've got a picture of it you can post (some of us weren't here last year!)

That is a gorgeous boy! And he knew it, didn't he?

I missed last years calendar but will be getting one this year.

Yes, he was a gorgeous, handsome boy - and I do think he knew it, but he didn't flaunt it. He just seemed to always be sitting or sleeping on colors that were best for him (greens and blues).

He wasn't little though! He was about 34" from nose to tail tip - to very LONG tail tip. He had the longest, most flexible tail I have ever seen on a cat (the flexible part, at least) and it would bend almost totally backwards. At first I thought there was something wrong with it, like it got broken or something, but he would come tearing down the hallway (from the litter box, after pooping) with it straight up in the air. Then he always made a sliding, half circle, claws out stop on the living room rug. That is one of the things I wish I had gotten a video of..... it was so funny.

Today is one month.....
