I was trimming my civvie Candy's nails and I accidentally trimmed one of them too short. It bled a tiny bit, but not much. I feel terrible! Poor little girl. Should I be worried about infection or anything? I've never trimmed one too close before. I really feel guilty. :(:(:(

I did this once or twice over the years. One thing that can help is a Stiptik pencil - you know that white pencil thing for shaving cuts, etc. Rub it over the end of the too short mail to fill the hole in the end.

I thought about that, but I don't have one. :(

Oops! Have you any cornstarch? Dab some of that on it and it should stop.
I've done it with my parent's dog a few times, she tends to move just as I go to cut. I just apply pressure and if it bled worse, I put a drop of neosporin on it and held. :bighug: It's ok, Lucy :)
It only bled a tiny - and I do mean tiny - bit, I don't think it even formed a drop. I'm mostly worried about infection.
