The money i'd saved up to get Michael his Lantus just had to go to a chiropractor for me. My back hurt so bad I was having trouble lifting a little 10 lb cat up onto the bed so I could do his BG test. Right now he is on Novolin N but his readings are all over the place. He's pretty good at about 6 hrs but by 12 hrs he's right back up in the 'hot zone'. I feel so guilty about putting my needs ahead of his.

That is the way N works, it only is effective for 8 hours or so. You can does N three times a day but many caretaker's schedule does not permit that.

You can save money on Lantus by ordering from Marks Marine Pharmacy online. You'd need to add your name to the waiting list but if you submit a prescription now, they'll ship the Lantus as soon as available, per website instructions. But it is anyone's guess when they'll get more in stock.

Meanwhile, you could check the Supply Closet - For Sale or Free Someone may have Lantus or you could post that you need one to buy.

Or you could see if a hospital, pharmacy, nursing home, etc will sell you one Lantus pen at a discount.

My cat went hypo on Novolin. From looking at your cat's spreadsheet, it would be a good idea to switch back to Lantus or try Levemir or ProZinc. Your cat is bouncing around too much on Novolin.

Have you tried DCIN? It is a foundation run to assist people with diabetic cats. They have much info regarding resources and offer an assistance program with insulin. Gice it a try on the internet and see if it could be of help. Godd luck from jand and stewey
