Once upon a time, each of us wasn't too good with message boards either. We got better, and so will you! And the nervous feeling will go away too. All of us were once in the same place you find yourself in today. . . just found out our cat was a "sugarkitty", no clue what it meant or what the future held. All that stuff will pass.
Did your vet mention anything about teaching you how to home test a cat's blood glucose yourself? Mine taught me, the same day she taught me how to inject the insulin. It took a few tries, but I got good at it, and so will you.
Let us know about the insulin, the dose, the home testing, and also about what kind of food your kitty has been eating up until now. From that info, we can really start to help you with learning the "sugar dance".

Welcome to the boards...whn you can, please post some details about your 'baby'. What did your vet tell you about his diet? Dosage?

Poopy and I welcome you to the best place you could have found for you and your kitty! cat_pet_icon (Don't tell him I told you so, but I think Poopy especially likes all the girls. ;-) ) (And, for Pete's sake, don't tell him there's just as many boys!)
Once upon a time, not even a month ago, Poopy was diagnosed diabetic. Of course, it was the end of world. I was terrified. Well, it wasn't quite the end of the world, but it did change a bit. Before, Poopy ruled the roost (he still does but I'm trying to grab the reins, still). He really didn't need me other than to feed him and clean out his litter box, play the occasional game when he wasn't terrorizing his fuzzy playmate, and, of course, give him his lovings on command. Well, he still expects the same as before from me, but now we've added me taking better care of him and his diabetes. :smile:
The folks here are super friendly and freely share their day in and day out 24/7 won knowledge to help us help our kitties. I have come to rely on their wisdom as I have seen it work for Poopy. And what works for Poopy works for me!
I've often heard caring for a kitty's diabetes is a sugar dance. Kitty hears the music, and we learn the steps. :lol:
