Hello,
My little man TJ had to be rushed to the emergency vet yesterday afternoon. Initially the symptoms were muscle weakness, but as I got the carrier ready I believe he had a seizure. I rushed him to the vet after giving him syrup (I couldn't get him to eat anything). They got him on glucose and decided to keep him overnight. Apparently it took a long time before his numbers looked better. I think one of the reasons is he wouldn't eat much with his morning dose, but they were confident his insulin was too high. I have him back at home now. The vet notes from overnight said reduce to 2 units, although the vet who discharged him said 1 unit. Before this, I wanted to keep him on a combo diet for the benefit of the other cat at home and my wallet, but I don't think this will work anymore. I am calling his normal vet when they open tomorrow. For diet, is half a can twice a day of seafood fancy feast a good call for a 7-8 pound cat? Additionally, is there anything more I can be doing for him while I wait for a check in with the vet?
Sorry for any incoherence I haven't been getting much sleep.
