Hypoallergenic food

Hi,

since we have given Ron nothing but fancy feast and Friskies pate he has gone into remission. But two of our other cats have developed food allergies. Is there any chance I can feed Ron the hypoallergenic wet food? I’m not sure exactly what to look for on the label.

This is a link to a cat food carb calculator. You can plug in the information from the guaranteed analysis from the label (or website) for the food you're looking at. It will give you an approximate value. The manufacturers are not required to provide information on carbohydrates and the calculator is easier than trying to do the numbers by hand.

This chart contains a huge volume of information on most of the canned foods that are available in the US. It also lists nutritional information such as the carbohydrates. If the hypoallergenic food is prescription, the list of prescription food begins on page 61.
