Just got home, Edgar had thrown up everywhere, on bed in bedroom, in living room. He's been having lots of (non-diabetes related) seizures lately so thought it could be related to that. Gave him some Cerenia for nausea. He was laying at my feet and looked listless and glassy. Tested BG at 21!!!!! Gave him high carb food and rubbed Karo on gums.

Now, I noticed he was having high numbers lately (this morning was in the 400s) and I realized his Lantus was expired. I have a new vial coming tomorrrow morning. Is it possible that expired lantus could lead to hypo episode?

UPDATE: 10 minutes after high carb and karo, he's up to 57

More likely he is going low and bouncing. You should try and get him to the vet if he is not responding to the HC and Karo. If not check in 15 min. and see if he is rising.

I put out an alert to LL forum to see if someone can take a look at your ss and see what you should give for a dose now that he's hypoed.

You will want to keep testing until you get two tests in a row where he has not had any more food and his numbers are rising. I think the tests should be 30 minutes apart.

I know that now is not a good time to bring this up but I don't think that anyone will give you dosing advice with your spreadsheet so far out of date. Is the data on sheet 3 more recent?

Hi sorry I had to be elsewhere. His numbers went up to 88 about an hour ago but then when I just tested he was back down at 67. So I put some high carb food in front of him and he's chowing down

Replying to my own post. He was at 67. Gave more high carb food, now he's back up to 84 at 1/2 hour later.

The Lantus is probably fine. As long as you are storing it correctly it will last longer than the expiration date. Are you keeping it in the fridge? And not in the door? You may want to consider investing in the Lantus solostar pens. As you only will use one at a time you can use them to the last drop before you open the next pen. A pack of five can last about a year and a half or so. Depending on you dosage.
