Arg!!! +4.5 and he's at 45!!! He's still got an hour at least before nadir. I'm so glad I can home to check instead of staying out running errands.

He's eating gravy now. This can't be easy on his body to go low again this soon.

Test 20 minutes after last test and post here. You do want to give the gravy, however not a lot at once. You want to make sure he will eat more if he has to.

Looks like this earned a reduction, although I'm not familiar with Prozinc.

Do you know what to do when Sam has these low numbers?

Hi Woodsywife. Yes, this is our 2nd round of this. I mostly just posted for moral support, although I'm thankful there's someone here if he throws me a curve ball. He's at 74 now, but that's gravy inflated so I'm going to need to keep monitoring. He's not showing any symptoms right now other than being VERY eager to eat the gravy, and seeming a bit thirsty as well. Although the eagerness to eat the gravy may also just be because it's the equivalent of giving him candy. :)

Thanks for being here. It's so comforting to know there's someone around! I may know the steps, but I still don't want to go through it alone!

Hey Djamila, This is Buddy's Mom Teresa (screen name Wolfey), I need help myself most of the time, but it seems as you are doing all the right things. I know this is scary. I looked at your guy's SS and he is not on a very high dose of ProZinc. Hope you get through this fast. Still lurking in the background.

We're both probably going to see a bounce tonight :banghead:
That does seem likely. His numbers are just all over right now. It's like trying to catch one of those superballs that just go everywhere. I have no clue how to dose him tonight. Thank goodness it's the weekend and I can stick around a bit more.

Thank you, Teresa! Just knowing there are people around is really helpful!

Well heck! Come on now Sam!!!!

That 74 is good...he's back up to a safe range. Just keep on testing...I know you've got this (you've got plenty of experience recently!). Time to lower the dose again...let's wait and see where he is tonight before we decide on a dose. For now, just keep monitoring and know you've got him back in safe numbers...

+5.5 is 68, and the good news is, this is his "normal" nadir. The bad news is, based on recent data, we have no idea when his nadir is. Sneaky little bugger, isn't he? I'm vaguely suspicious he's just doing this because he figured out if he hits light green he gets the good treats. :p:D

@Djamila at least he's going back up! These guys are sure keeping us entertained.....! Mine decided its a flat pink day today....
Is Mr. Pou's tummy feeling better? And that's funny you go the exact same number twice. At least he's consistent, huh?

He is funny like that...I swear he programs the glucometre when I am sleeping, oh and hides his chocolate bars around the house.
sorry for the details but yes... : His tummy is better yes, yesterday when he went there was still sound effects but the consistency has changed from "melted peanut butter" to soft ice cream....He was squatting there a while till he finished dispensing...I laughed at him but he forgave me.

He also eat very little all day yesterday so the lucky guy got some FF mixed into his friskies for dinner, he was one happy kitty!

Oops. Sorry, yes, but only to 84. Then we all snuggled in for a little naps. I'll grab another in just a few minutes.

Looks like you steered with just the right amount of food! MAYBE...he will finish the cycle out without playing on the trampoline?! *anti-jinx*

Glad things are solidifying (haha) - and that he enjoyed his extra special dinner last night!

Yes, and I found a new purpose for the Stella & Chewy's. It now resides in my hypo kit. o_O

Thank you all so much for the moral support today! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate knowing I'm getting good vibes sent from this awesome community!!!
How much did you give him, in case this happens to me again. You always come out just right.

Teasel is doing the same thing for me. I came home at +8 to a 63 on a pet meter - lime green. I've just fed him some HC food and will retest in a while.

Crazy! There have been a lot of hypos today! We're all getting our practice in. @Yong had one too.

I don't think it was any skill on my part - I just scooped a little spoonful onto the plate after the first test, then gave him three bites of another high-carb food since we were just nearing the nadir at that point. In between he munched a little on his regular low-carb food. There is still about 2/3 of the gravy can left. I think the reason why he didn't jump up (yet - there's still time for that to happen - so... anti-jinx!) is that it seems like his pancreas is producing a bit of natural insulin to help him out right now. That also may be why his numbers are all over the place, and his reactions to the insulin are somewhat unpredictable. I think it will take a bit more time to know if that's really what's happening or not. It could just be a wacky few days, and he could go back to his normal patterns. Time will tell.

And for everyone else who hit lime-green today: way to go, team! Glad all of our kitties are back up in safe numbers. And may we all be blessed with wisdom in getting our evening doses right!

I just posted the following on your previous thread :

My granddaughter is with me since yesterday and I haven't been on much. Just saw that Sam hypoed again. If it were me , I think since he hypoed on 3/16 with a 1.4 dose, he needs less insulin. I would drop the dose to below that so maybe around 1.25 unit and let this bounce clear for 6 cycles and then see where he is.

I am wondering now if around 3/ 10 - 3/13 PM cycles if he hit some greens and bounced in the AM and the dose was increased. And it was too much.

It will be hard to continue holding the dose if you see some higher numbers but I think you are going to need to do that to keep him safe and then methodically raise him from then( .25 unit at a time.). I am glad you are getting U 100 syringes. I printed out the conversion chart and kept it inside my cabinet door and checked and rechecked the dose before I shot.

Oh, Jamie!!! Sending you and Mr. Pou lots of love!!! If Sam bounces tonight we might be right there with you!
