? hypertiroidism and not eating

My cat Statica was finally diagnosticate with hypertiroidism, due to a cyst, also Tsh analysys was 2.6 so in hypertiroidism area due to his age 16 years old.
No decision until now or treatment received regarding the hypertiroidism as he has big creatinine number 5.4 and urea 85, treatment with azodyl.
Also he stopped eating, so is seringe feed, but also vomit due to the tyroid hormones, could I give him cerenia at least to stop vomit the little food I put in him? Cerenia will be worst for his kidneys?
After he will be stable with the creatinine, what will ve the best solution for hypertiroidism: surgery or medication? I think his vet is still evaluating this, but she mentioned surgery.

Honestly at 16 years of age, not sure I could do the surgery. I have a cat that has been on Methimazole since 2009, she will be 18 in a few months. She has a cyst also, that went unnoticed until this past year when it seemed to grow larger. Due to where the cyst is located, her age and they do not think it is cancerous we are not removing it. If you have not done so already, I highly recommend joining this group and post your questions. I would ask your vet about the vomiting and administration of cerenia. It could be due to the high creatine or reaction to the methiamazole or some other cause, but it is vital that your vet diagnose/give advice and that your kitty eat so please call your vet.
 
I was able to medicate my hyperthyroid cat Emmy for over 5 years by dissolving the tablet into some yummy food. It does require periodic blood work to make sure that everything stays in balance.
 
Tried to contact his vet by sms/phone and now I am waiting for vet's reply; his vet is probably the best vet, but in order to reach her I need a day off.
Went to a nearby vet and test for creatinine now ok 1.5 from 5.4, but the urea is increasing to 102 from 82, any idea?
He eat a little food by his own, fingers crossed. What chances could he have if he will not eat alone?
BJM, what type of food you consider yummy? I have tried almost everything, tuna, heating, eating by hand, in different rooms. The label available here are purina, hills, royal canine, whiskas.

When my girl didn't want to eat, I was able to get her to take baby food. Like gerber meats. She liked the ham. At least it was something. His vomiting could be from the high UREA. He may need some fluids at vet to help flush his kidneys. Hopefully you'll hear from your vet soon!

I just communicate with the doc and she recomanded fluids that I will do first thing in the morning.
Also recomanded to start hypertiroid treatment, I will start with the minimum dose of available pills.
I will try baby food also, this I did not try it until now, I hope it works.

My cat is a senior as well and we have been successfully treating his hyperthyroidism for a few years now with methimazole. Tablets dissolve easily in small amt of water/canned food juice, and he eats it right down with his food no trouble.

Vet and i never discussed surgery, as this condition is very easily treatable with medication. There was mention of radioactive iodine, but for us it didnt make sense and we're doing fine on the meds.
 
He did fluids this morning and he will continue next days, seams ok except that is not eating and that he lost weight.
What will be the minimum dose of methimazole to start with, as his level of hormones were not so high 2.6 fitting in the scale interval of 2.3-4.7 for old/ symptomatic cats? 2 mg/ day? I understand that will be determine by trying and testing, but I presume that he need a little dose. The blood work tests are good to be every 2 months or more frecvent?-
