Ok folks,
I think some of the mystery is over!!!!
Louie has been getting LESS than what he should have... His mammabean was at the vet, got a quick (too quick) lesson on 1unit. She was only filling to the large top black line... thinking that was 1 unit.... so, when she was thinking that Louie was getting a 1.5 or 1.25, he was only getting .50 or .25.....
Sooooo, with all that said, he is now on 1 unit or less.....
please take a look, give his mammabean some incouraging words....we ALL MAKE MISTAKES!
I think we could be heading to less or possible OTJ???, but definately not some other major problems as to why he was not going down on his bgs...
I just think this is wonderful news!! GO MAMMABEAN & LOUIE~ YALL ARE DOING GREAT!

After I figured out what was wrong, his numbers have been making sense...in all this time he had never even gotten a full unit! I feel so stupid, but very happy I wasn't wrong going the other direction with giving too much!

His numbers are getting lower...but still occasionally has a spike...but hopefully things will even out...and I hesitantly hope for remission!!!
 
love it when a mystery is solved! Don't feel stupid. The vet actually pulled up one unit in front of me, and made me do the same for her, so she'd know I had it right. Now lets see how much better Louie looks!
In future, never leave the vet office if you have any questions you need a better answer on. They make pretty good money. Make sure and get your money's worth!

Oh I'm very good at asking questions, lol....but I didn't know to question how to use the syringe, as far as that goes. I suspect she was using a u40 syringe too, but I am not sure about that one...she really only showed me how to inject...not the dosage...I was so overwhelmed, lol.

You can also google images for correct dosing, or possibly even Youtube. I know there are tons of pics out there. I will try to find some good links for you & post them. Of course, the wonderful people in this group may have 10 links up before I find even 1. :)
