My boy had antibiotics two weeks ago tomorrow and he is having an upset tummy. His diabetes is well controlled an just worried his upset stomach. Theres been no change in food and the only difference has been the antibiotic. Is there anything i can give him that would help? Have read about plain yoghurt but dont want to make him worse or upset his diabetes. Am also worried tjere could be another underlying issue? Any help or suggestions?

Amen to the Forti Flora - many vets sell it $$$ and its available online for less.

A teaspoon of plain yogurt with active cultures may help, too.

Pet Pectillin works fastest to firm things up in just a couple doses. It's vanilla flavored, not really a good cat flavor, but easy to administer with a dropper or syringe in the side of the mouth. You might find it in the Dog section, it's for both dogs and cats. Pro-Pectalin is similar and comes in a giant multi dose syringe.

After an antibiotic, some type of probiotic will help get things back to normal. I've used both the FortiFlora and Fast Balance-GI. Only one of mine will eat yogurt.

For cats with chronic lose stools, like my Simba-- I suspect he has some sort of IBS or Crohn's type thing--doses of psyllium have worked best for him. Start with 1/8 t with each meal and you can work up to 1/2 t a couple times a day. This has really firmed up his stools, but I have to be consistent. He also gets Fresh Digest supplement.
