? Bounce again from 7/15 PM+2 to 7/16 AMPS? Also how do I get big dot on title of new post?
I want my spreadsheet to look like Henry’s! Smooth sailing & consistent feeding +2+4+6!
? Does group consider 13% Fr shreds in gravy MC? I left 2 meals [1 tsp 13% shreds] in overnight auto feeder. Tried to program +4 +6 but unsure exactly when she ate. Suggestions as Cali & I still learning auto feeder.
HC 20% Friskies Farm w) carrots [hold for emergency low early in cycle or hypo]

When the +2 is lower than the amps or pmps you will likely have an active cycle and need another test in 1-2 hours. He could have been even lower.
10-15% is mc and over that hc.

Bounces occur from dropping lower than the cat is used to, dropping too low, or dropping too fast. Some cats are more bouncy than others. Some bounce all the way to going otj. All you can do is try to feed to avoid the big drops and under. 50’s.

Thanks for the clarifications on foods. At least I have that right. I believe we have the right daily quantity of LC food [1.25 cans Friskees pate over 24 hours], trying to hone in on correct dosage [Lantus between 1 & 1.25U]. Timing and quantity of food to achieve smoother ride is still very experimental [ex. Smaller quantity at AMPS if higher BG, larger, ie 2tsp versus 2Tbsp at feeding]. Nevertheless I feel like Cali & I are pinging all over the optimum. Every test presents more questions. Fortunately improvement of clinical signs are excellent with no other obvious signs of medical illness/complications. Appetite is very good but no longer ravenous like earlier months.
I value your insight and input. Please don’t hesitate to stop by and review.

Hello there - I was studying your SS and I'm wondering why you increased to a 1F after Cali went low on 7/13?

Also, no further tests after the 57 on 7/13 at 3+ ?

Since I haven't been following along lately I'm just trying to get a handle on the decision making process... :)

There's really no way to stop a cat from bouncing. Once a kitty gets used to lower numbers, the bouncing will slow down. It may help to remember that bouncing is a form of protection from low numbers.

Some of the bouncing may be due to not knowing where Cali's numbers went later in the PM cycles. For example, on 7/13, you have no way of knowing whether Cali went lower than the 57 at +3. Given the AMPS on 7/14, it's likely that she dropped lower than 57. You may need to think about getting some tests during the PM cycle when you're seeing dropping numbers so you have a better chance of steering the cycle.

Hi. Thanks for stop by. I looked back at SS and saw my +5 on 7/13 of 92 had not recorded. Was not transferred from sticky note. I rechecked meter memory and updated SS. THANKS for catch. My 1F unit has been since approx 7/2/21. SS noted with * in next column until someone shared proper recording. I think 1 unit causes Cali’s BG to go higher, but 1.25 is too much. I may be over thinking it but I deliberate every day and night- too much or not enough? Regardless she sleeps a LOT

Corrected SS for 7/13PM [SEE REPLY BELOW].
My calico has not relented. She does not back away from the challenge of a test but amps with zeal. It requires both my husband and I to test. Determined I tried for 45 minutes this am unsuccessfully. Engaging my husband each time is also a challenge so I try to use my test judiciously. This is not a situation where I can predict or extrapolate the next sequence of the curve. If I could this home would be a lot more tranquil. We both worship this sugar baby and count our blessings that other than the obvious diabetes and a hip injury from last December, she has been healthy. I am sourcing B-12 for her skin rippling and hopefully to reduce her sleepy time. Inactivity challenges our goal to hold her weight.
