good morning.

my cat has food sensitivities and it would be ideal to just add sugared syrup to the food he currently eats if there is ever a need (have Nutri-Cal the vet had me buy on hand…… is this at all useful too? Plz lmk.)

Someone shared that adding syrup to the food is more than fine instead of HC food (appreciate it, thanks..) But how exactly do I go about doing this or approaching this? And what syrups are good options? I know karo/honey.. but is raw honey ok? Or regular honey?

What are the options and what has been found to be more palatable? What are the amounts/drops to make HC or MC if can advise/share?

thanks.

Honey/corn syrup (such as karo)/maple syrup all work. Just add a drop to your LC food. How much to make MC or HC will depend a lot on your cat. Some cats are more carb sensitive than others. Some need a lot of carbs, some just a little. And size of drops also vary. Experiment and record what you used on the spreadsheet. Over time you'll see what works for your cat.
