How to link 'yesterday's thread'

You're doing great Sandi. Don't give up.

Try this and if I din't forget any steps, hopefully this will work for you.

Go to your thread from yesterday and click on it so you see all your posts. Look up at the very top of your screen and you should see something like this: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...3-5-428-pmps-high-2-high.212833/#post-2358649

Put your cursor on that line at the end of the text, so right after the 9 or whatever the last character is.

Highlight it, by clicking once using the left button on your mouse. Without moving your cursor off that line, right click with your mouse button and you should see a drop down menu.

Click on “copy” from that drop down menu.

The link (URL) should now be in your computer’s memory.

Now, go to the main Lantus page where you see the list of everyone’s threads.

Go to the top right of the page and click on “Post new thread”. You should now see a “create thread” box where you can enter the date, your kitties name and BG numbers. In the larger box underneath type in “yesterday” or “previous” then right click your mouse button and choose “paste” from the drop down menu. What was in your computer’s memory will be pasted there and should contain the link to your previous thread.

I hope this helps, but if it still doesn’t work, don’t worry we’ll figure out another way. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks!!

Step missing in above post. When you type the word yesterday or previous. You have to highlight that word. The look at you menu bars and click on th 7th icon (chain link). When that box pops up you right click on It and paste. Then click insert. The word will turn blue. Once you create post you can click on It and It will bring you to your previous post.

It took me forever to figure it.

There are actually two ways to post the link. The instructions that Sonia provided will list the link the way it appeared in her post. The location from the URL will appear the way it appears at the top of your browser page.

If you want to make it appear the way Sandy has it in her post above, it's a little different. Sandy gave your post a name.

  • On your post from the previous day, highlight the location (the http:// info at the top of your browser) and copy that information
  • Open a new thread for today.
  • In the message box, type whatever you want to call the post from the previous day (e.g., Yesterday or Yesterday's Condo, Biscuits condo -- whatever you want to call it).
  • Highlight the name
  • Click on the "link" icon -- li looks a bit like a paperclip -- it's the 7th icon from the left above the message box. A message box will appear that is titled "Link". Paste the location information into the box.
  • Click on "Insert" and you should be good to go.
As for today's numbers, Biscuits bouncing. Given that your kitty isn't used to spending time in pink numbers, the pancreas and liver released a stored form of glucose along with counterregulatory hormones that sent numbers spiking back up. It's annoying but normal. It may take a few cycles for numbers to get back on track.

Good move Jill. I thought the same thing and thought she was talking about deleting the other thread. Then when I checked I was like the instructions are gone and she might want them again.

might help somebody else
If you're a klutz like me I do one of two things;
Bookmark the page and feel free to rename it.
Copy the text into Notepad, name it anything you want, save it anywhere you want. Notepad has it's drawbacks, no spell check etc. but opens much faster than Word.
In Windows you can right click any bookmark, then paste "copy bookmark" in a blank space on your display or just drag the bookmark onto a blank space.
The same applies to any document. Right click "Create new shortcut" and the rest is self explanatory.
This may sound silly until your router craps out at 3AM and you need to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a cat, forget the basics of HYPO treatment or the directions to the nearest emergency.
