How often should you take a diabetic cat for a complete vet exam. I know this is a strange question but Harley went to the vet 4 months ago and had a good checkup. Should I look at every 6 months to take him or is 1 time a year, if no complications, enough?

Harley has IAA, IBD and is on 10u lantus.

I brought my diabetic to the vet once a year for a routine check up and rabies shot. Most of the time I just kept in touch with the vet through email. Once a year is enough for most cats.

I take Simba in for check up 2 times a year, every half year

and of course when he gets sick

He is a senior now at 15, so that is partly why he goes more often

J.D. is 16 now and has been getting twice a year check ups and full blood work for about 4 years now.
I think it's something like 1 year to a cat is like "5 years" to a human, and an older cat should be seen more than every "5 years". I just want to stay on top of things.

That actually sounds good to me. I am thinking that once a year might not be enough. Every 6 months might catch something before it gets to be a real problem.
