Molly was constipated a few days ago. I have her 1/4 tsp of Clearlake. Bought pure pumpkin to mix in with her food. How often should I give her pumpkin? To keep her regular and how much? I dilute her food with water. She eats Fancy Feast.

From catinfo.org: "Many people use pumpkin (canned – plain….not pumpkin pie filling with added sugar and spices) but some cats do not like it. I prefer guar gum because it is more convenient and is not an unnecessary source of carbohydrates for our carnivores. It lasts forever (it is not perishable) and most cats readily eat it when mixed into their food. If you want to try pumpkin, use 1/2 – 1 teaspoon 2-3 times per day mixed into their food. Some people freeze the pumpkin in ice cube trays for convenience."

It didn’t increase Jackson’s blood sugar. The amount to give can vary. I gave closer to a teaspoon at one or two meals. Basically I increase until it works.

I used to give Sheba pumpkin ( which I cooked myself) two it three times a day and it did not effect her BG.
She liked it.
My current civvies both get it occasionally and both like it.
