Can someone please look at Rudy's chart and let me know what we should do for his shot? We should be giving it to him right now with his food- haven't done either yet. He was really low today- but we didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary to get through it. He is acting completely normal as well.

Thank you! :-)

Wow - I was expecting him to be bouncing by now!! You might actually want to skip tonight and start him on his reduced dose tomorrow - you don't want to send him right back down into the 40s again!

I was pretty surprised that it has been such a slow short climb. My husband said to give him nothing also, I was hoping to give him some so that we don't bounce so much tomorrow- but he is still pretty low. :-(

As long as you haven't fed him yet, I'd retest him about now and see if he's coming up....If he IS (and hasn't had any food), you could shoot a reduced dose tonight to keep him from draining the depot too much, but if you shoot anything, you'll want to make sure to get a +1 and +2 to make sure he's doing OK and you need to have enough supplies (strips and high carb food) to intervene tonight if you need to

You'll also need to commit to being up as long as necessary tonight to make sure you keep him safe

Sounds like a plan to me!! Don't forget though...since you're shooting late tonight, you'll want to work back to your chosen shooting schedule 15 minutes per cycle, so tomorrow morning, his shot will be 30 minutes later than normal (if you're shooting 45 minutes late tonight)

Thank you! Honestly I've been a bit intimidated by the Lantus forum. Not sure why, I'm just afraid of posting something there out of turn. They seem to be a well oiled machine and I feel like a hot mess...lol

We've been trying to use the start low, go slow along with our vet. We had been shooting near the 200's, then all of a sudden this weekend he went much lower, which threw me off a bit. I think we'll end up backing off a little bit on his dose to keep him a little higher than he went today :-)

You do 1 post per day and title it with the day and your cat's name, plus any test readings you get, and mark with a question mark if you have a question, 911 for a life-threatening issue, or nothing if everything is going smoothly.
And, so folks can go to the previous post, you add a link to it.
