How much does a LC meal (raw) raise glucose (in general)?
Katie was acting weird both before and after her meal, and although I always check her BG on an empty stomach, I tested her about an hour after eating because I was worried.
It wasnt low, it was 202, but I was just wondering how much the raw food could have raised it in that time. Thanks in advance for replies.
 
That will vary with the individual cat andthe amount of carbohydrate in the meal.
Overall, changing to a low carb diet may reduce the glucose by 100-200 mg/dL and reduce the insulin dose by 1-2 units according to individual reports here.
 
There's no "set" amount....it will vary from cat to cat and even meal to meal

That's why the +1 is such an important test that doesn't get a lot of attention.....learning the general amount of a food spike YOUR cat gets is valuable information
