But, also, I was told that transferring the Lantus in a Solostar Pen to a syringe can alter the pH of the Lantus. Is that true? It is stored in glass, but even the large vials are used with a syringe.....
All you're doing is pulling the insulin out of the pen.....just think of the pen being a "mini-vial" that holds 300 units instead of 1000
There's no problem with using a regular insulin syringe with the pens .....we just don't want to inject insulin back into the pen once it's drawn out so we don't take the risk of contaminating the rest of the pen
