Good Morning!

I just started testing Sabu at home on Wednesday--I didn't start charting yet, but do have his #'s from when I have...( I know I need to start, please don't lecture!)

At diagnosis on 6/24 he was 596, I changed his diet & put him on 1 unit of Lantus 2 times a day.
His vet appointment 2 weeks later July 5th he was 250 (8 hrs after morning shot & 5 hours fasting)
Next vet appt, July 11 he was 150 (8 hrs after morning shot & 5 hours fasting)
I started testing him at home July 20 and it was 135 (but an hour after his nightly shot & after he ate a tiny bit of dinner)
Last night, at 6pm I testing him his bg was 97, (before his 7pm shot he had an empty food bowl but can't say for sure that he finished it all before 12pm) Called the vet about whether or not to give nightly shot & was told not to, but to give morning one, test again and if below 150 not to shoot.
This morning I testing again before his morning shot, and he was 97--vet isn't open so I made a judgement call not to shoot this morning either.

Any insight? Could he be OTJ already?? I know it's probably not the case, but I'm not sure what else to think... :?:

Good Morning,

Actually it is possible he could be already OTJ. Maxwell started out at 485, 2 weeks later he was OTJ. For him all it took was a change in diet and a short course of insulin. Normally we don't 'officially' announce a cat is OTJ until they have been off insulin for 2 weeks with normal BGs most of which in double digits.

Test twice a day like you would normally do before what would be their shot time for 2 weeks, in he stays too low to shoot then you can pull out the party hats, you have an OTJ kitty and its time to Get The Party Started!

Thanks!
BTW, can you share the link to the google spreadsheet? I did a search for it and only found a link that didn't work...
