How long after insulin shot shoul I test again??

I just gave Christopher insulin for the first time in 1.5 years.
How long should I wait till I test his blood glucose again??

Definitely get a +2 (2 hours after shot). If it is higher than PMPS, then he should be okay. If it is the same, or lower, test again at +3.

he was at 377 1.5 hrs ago. Highest he has been in almost 2 years. I am keeping an eye on him since he didnt eat tonight. Ate well this morning but I think he may have vomited while I was at work tonight.

If the high number was due only to the kibble, and he is not eating, he may drop fast.

he ate this morning and was much more normal. Tried to test but he bit me so I will try again when i come home from work at 3:00. Hoping for the best.
