I have a kit that I ordered a month or so ago and unfortunately never used it... is there a way to donate it back to give to another person who needs it?

Sure! Click on Cindy and Mousie's post at the top of the page with the topic: Hometesting starter kits. She will tell you how to send it to her so she can send it to someone else.

Sorry - I didn't connect your two posts. Sorry you lost your Rudey. It sounds like you gave him great care and attention.
 
Really sorry about Rudey. But, 19 years is a great, long life! Hope that brings you comfort. (And thanks for offering your kit up to someone that could need it - especially during such difficult times)
