OMGoodness! We've been battling ear problems for a year now. Out of the 12 cats in the herd, 4 are showing symptoms. They've been treated for everything from ear mites to yeast infections. We started eliminating foods, thinking food allergies(not too common in 4 cats!). Soooo, lo and behold after looking for ear mites here at home and at the vets routinely, my DH finally found one of those lil buggers on a slide today. We decided to grab a sample from a civvie that isn't showing symptoms. Go figure! OH thank goodness the mystery is solved! It's funny that last year was the first year we didn't use Advantage flea prevention(regular Adv. not multi or Adv.2) "consistently". We usually dose the kitties with Advantage over the warm months about 3x. Last year we only dosed once. Coincidence that we have ear mites now???
So, my question is what is a proven natural home remedy to eradicate these lil buggers? I've read about the ACV spray, garlic w/oil, and aloe vera gel. BTW is aloe toxic?? I thought I read that somewhere. Anywho all thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
ETA: It is Advantage II that we use. I'm a ninnie!!! In my defense it's been a while since we purchased it
