Am I supposed to test once an hour after the first insulin injection, or once every two hours? Of course, I started already. I'm reading conflicting advice, and our vet's office is not open this morning due to a big snowstorm.

Testing approximately every 2 hours is fine for a curve  If your cat won't cooperate, just do the best you can. Try to get at least 4 tests done between the insulin injection times.

Oh Thank You FDMB Oh Thank You!
To the rescue once again.
I'm helping my daughter with her newly diagnosed kitty's first glucose curve. I assumed the vet's office would be open today for advice. Weather stepped in to complicate things.
Now I have to trudge up to her house through the snow just every two hours instead of once an hour.
Her cat is SO GOOD for the testing. I can't even believe it. She is PERFECT. Whew.

What a clever kitty. She obviously knows what's good for her! Maybe she could give some other cats on here a few pointers! ;-)

Bright side, Joan,
After the first couple of tests you'll have worn in a good path thru the snow:-)

Managed to reach the vet....they want every hour! I made four trips, and my daughter took over with confidence. Awesome. She's now a member of the VAMPIRE CLUB! She's so good she decided to test her OTHER kitty! Amazing. I'll be having her set up a spreadsheet soon. Her cat is so good you would not believe it. Plus she has white ears. What a good day.

Wow, a vet that advises more testing than we do???? Let us know the numbers when she's finished, Joan.

Glad it is a "good day" :-D Tell your daughter "great job!"
