I have recently started my cat, Oscar, on insulin. He takes the shots like a champ. But when I need to do the blood test with the lancet im having trouble getting blood from his paw. Sometimes it works fine. Not so good other times. I have to prick him three times. Is there something im doing wrong? Please help!

Not many of us use the paw for testing. Did you try the ear and decide the paw was better? I think people do use the rice sack and heat the paw like the ear. Are you getting it warm? I would also think you need a large lancet - 25 to 28 gauge.
