Hey all...after several days of successful BG tests on Sketch's ear I am suddenly having difficulty getting a drop of blood for a test. Seems I'm doing everything the same but the last two times after 3 or so pricks to his ear each time no blood! Any suggestions from the group? He doesn't like his paws touched so pad tests would be impossible.

Thanks Yong, and Larry. I'll try that again later...I actually got my own finger last time...I guess the good news in my BG was good. I think maybe I should have angled the lancett just a bit as well, may have been going too straight in. I usually rub his ear as suggested in the video I watched and vet info.
Just got the Lantus insulin pen yesterday and I'm going in for a consult with the Vet tomorrow AM. Hope to get Sketch started on it tomorrow. Although he seems to be doing well since switching his diet. Seems happy and seems to feel better. Symptoms of drinking excessively and using his box more often have all but disappeared. He is active and eating well but has been 350 to 400 on 5 successful BG tests.
