Hitting lows - should I reduce further?

Looks like Chingis is doing well and getting ahead of the recurring pancreatitis attacks he was having. I credit this to giving him an aggressive protocol of Cerenia - 8mg three days on, two days off. A big improvement in him and he is slowly gaining some weight back.

Thing that worries me is (if you look at his chart) he has been getting some really low readings the past month. I've taken him down from 2U to 1.75 4 cycles ago, and he is still low.

Should I reduce him further to 1.5U - and if so, when?

Looking at his chart. True he's given you a couple greens but they haven't been seriously low ones so I would continue to hold unless he gives you a number below 2.5

I would hold the current dose for at least another couple of days, assuming the same pattern as the last 2 days.

With chronic pancreatitis, it is possible for there to be some impairment in digestive enzyme production.

Signs of this include soft, malodorous feces and weight loss. This may relate to some of the lower values you sometimes see (if you can't digest it, it can't raise the glucose).

You may wish to discuss this possible complication with your vet; the treatment is supplemental digestive enzymes, available over the counter.
