I am wondering if the higher BG numbers from +8 on are stress related from loads more testing than she is used to.

I am also stressed by it as is her other caretaker who had to step in and assist midday when I was fumbling and uncoordinated and just couldn't seem to get the job done.

She hung in there, but it was obvious that her stress levels were increasing.

I was really surprised by the PMPS number.

A new routine is always stressful for a cat, but I would not read too much into these numbers at the beginning. You may need to get to the right dose to see those numbers coming down. It's good that you are testing and catching these higher numbers as this will guide you with dosing. When I started, I was ridiculously stressed about testing and she hated it, but still dropped low because she was on a dose that was too high for her, and thankfully I was testing and caught it so that I knew to reduce the dose.

The testing will become routine for both of you. We are on a regimented schedule so my Ruby comes to us when it's time to remind us to poke her. :) Cats crave routine and regularity.

I'd also encourage you to get at least a "before bed" test every night. If you don't get any PM tests, you're not only missing half of your data, you could be missing numbers that warrant a dose reduction.
