Higher hypo number?

I am curious if a cat that has been unregulated and has had high BG's for years can hypo at higher numbers because their body isn't used to lower numbers? Yesterday, we had our first blue. While I didn't see any of the symptoms listed on the hypo document, Fins paw twitched a little bit when he was at 105. As soon as his numbers rose, his paw stopped twitching.

Maybe I have been staring at my cat too long and am looking into this too much....looking for advice from those in the know.

Thanks,

Barbi and Fin

I would doubt that a paw twitch is a sign of hypo, especially since it's not among the symptoms. It could be just like in a person, you develop a short-lived muscle twitch. It could be from sitting funny and the nerve firing... Who knows?

Thanks for the reply Sienna. I tell you, this stuff is nerve racking. Not sure I could keep my sanity without the supportive group here. Maybe a thread on how to 'chill out' for newer beans nailbite_smile

Hope you and your fur babies have a great Saturday.

Lol!! Dyana and I bumped the same note almost simultaneously!

In response to your question in Gabby's condo, I get my supplies from PetFood Direct. They have frequent specials, discounts, and free shipping. Things like litter work out to the same price (once you factor in the shipping) as in a Petco except you get delivery!!

And there's usually some good coupon codes for PFD in the Supply Closet http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20306

That was an awesome read that I really needed! Thanks for bumping that. I was literally laughing and crying at the same time. I do believe my blood pressure just dropped about 150 points :-D

Must be something about the Pacific Northwest that makes Fancy Feast more expensive. I had my Mom check prices in Chicago and they are half that. I will check out the link. Appreciated!!
