i'm sure this has been covered before but i can't find it.

We increased lantus last night. This morning's amps was actually higher than its been in a while, higher than before the increase. I couldnt do a curve overnight and i cant today either. I know the ss doesnt gove a lot of info.

Generally speaking is it normal for bg to go up after an increase?

Not necessarily. But it can happen.
There is a phenomenon that been observed here whereby a cat may initially (and for a very short time) respond to a dose increase by having slightly higher numbers. In FDMB-speak this is known as 'New Dose Wonkiness".
...Here's a link to more info on 'NDW':
New Dose Wonkiness (NDW) and Failed Reductions

There are other reasons why numbers may be higher after a dose increase. For example, a dose that is too high can cause higher numbers. This can happen if the new dose causes the cat's blood glucose to drop low enough to trigger a 'bounce' up to higher numbers.
Or it may be that the higher number isn't caused the by the dose increase at all. Every day will be different to some degree (inter-day variation). Or it may be that the kitty had slightly more food than usual, or has a furball, or saw a squirrel outside the window (ooh, exciting stuff!), or is just 'being a cat'...
