I realize this could just be "one of those things", but we've had some higher numbers the last few days. I'm not quite sure what might be causing it? I did open a new case of food, but I haven't seen anyone else mentioning high #s and possible food issues. Find it unlikely Friskies changed.

No signs of any other health problems.

Hi. Looking at your SS I think you will get answers to your question as to why the numbers are higher if you test more in between the shots. At the moment we really don’t know how well the insulin is working because we can’t see how low the dose is taking your kitty. So getting tests in during +4 to +8 ( different times each day) will tell us that. Also don’t neglect the PM cycle. That is just as important as the am cycle. Cats often drop lower at night. Your kitty could be dropping low overnight and bouncing back up into pink numbers by the time of the next shot and unless you are testing you won’t know.
I would recommend getting a before bed test in every night. If that test is much lower than the Preshot I would set the alarm and test again a couple of hours later to see your kitty is not dropping too low. Keep asking questions

As Bron said, more information is needed. It is possible that the elevated BG level is not caused by environmental factors, which was the case of Monkey, who went to 3.25 U lantus, then went to 0.75, then went to 3 again, then now he is having 0.5 U. I guess this is how diabetes in some cats work.

Please, get at least one test each cycle in addition to your pre-shot tests.

Vetsulin is harsh and can drop numbers quickly There is no means of currently sorting out when your cat's nadir is. It would be very helpful to get an occasional curve since nadirs can and do change. You also have no way to know if numbers are dropping lower than expected and if you're seeing a bounce.

Insulin is a hormone. It doesn't act like other drugs -- like an antibiotic. The dose that is wonderful today, may not be great tomorrow due to stress or any number of other factors.

Thanks all! Our schedule has been making extra testing very difficult lately. I'm hoping it's settled down enough where I can get a curve in this week, or at least some tests from +4-8
