Any recommendations for high calorie food, treats or supplements? Mitz has not ben eating as much in the hot weather so has already lost a little weight. she lost more over the last week when we were gone on vacation (9 lbs the day before we left down to 8.2 this morning!). I'm putting the food bowl in front of her every chance I get to encourage her eat but would love some other suggestions.
Thanks!

Iams Max cal is the highest, but it's not really the tastiest, and it is high in fat. I feed innova Cat and Kitten because my other cat has trouble keeping on the weight. This has about 190-200cals per 5.5o oz can which is rather high. They seem to like it. Wellness Grain-Free varieties are all 180-200 calories for the 5.5 oz can. My cats -loved- the wellness foods, but they are about twice as expensive. Wellness core kitten is high in calories as well. Evo (Innova is rebranded Evo) has some high calorie foods as well.

If your cat is a kibble lover or it's a texture thing, I found that when my cats won't eat well, freshpet is always still something they'll inhale. It's a wet kibble that is refrigerated. It's not really high in calories (mostly water), but they seem to love it. I'm not sure the carb content, but I think it's a medium carb food.

Thanks Meya. Mitz gets Wellness grain free and Core along with Stella & Chewys raw. Could also be that she's getting bored with the current rotation and I need to branch out. I'll check out the Wellness kitten flavors and look into Evo.

Frequent, moderate feedings of a kitten food (higher fat and protein for growth and development) will help get weight back on, so long as the glucose is being well controlled.
