Hi, I lost my Relion and have to use the Alpha Trak- can someone check my numbers?

Hi,

Lolly's been in remission almost eleven months. I have been checking her every 10 days or so with a Relion confirm, and her readings have been good, between 50 and 58, never over 60. I can't find her Relion meter anywhere. I'm waiting for a new one in the mail (our local Wal-Mart doesn't have it), so I tested her today with her old Alpha Trak II. Her BG was 89, right before her evening meal.

Based on my old notes, I think that's good, but could someone familiar with it just confirm that for me? Also I seem to remember a sticky (BJ?) on the conversion, but I can't find it.

Thanks, and Lolly says hi to all her old friends!

See my signature link Human Glucometer and Veterinary Lab Reference Numbers and Notes.

We adjust the lower safe number to 68 for pet meters. The other color ranges are for visual change checking and do not mean anything special.

Thanks everyone for getting back to me so quickly. Those were the notes I wanted. We've looked everywhere for her Relion, we think its become a cat toy somewhere.

@Woodsywife I know this seems confusing. All of us who use the AT meter have questioned this ourselves. The numbers at the top of the spreadsheet do not mean anything "scientific" and neither do the colours. They are simply an arbitrary number breakdown to allow us to see any patterns emerging as you add data. Whether you are using a human meter or a pet meter, the pattern should look very similar but the colour pattern will be a little different. The difference being that those using a pet meter will hopefully never see any readings in the last column marked <50 as that would be too low using a pet meter and likely only a few readings in the second last column marked 50-99, as anything under 68 on the AT meter is considered low and require action to bring the number up.
