Hi LL friends! I just wanted to stop by and say hello and let you all know that I am doing okay. I miss Morgaine terribly and am still feeling tremendous grief but I do know she is at peace. Mine wilk come eventually. This has been one of the hardest losses for me because Morgaine was my cat and mine alone. Other pets were shared with my former husband and although always painful to lose them, the bond was totally different. I never thought I could feel so deeply about her but I did. She was my joy at times when I really needed some joy. Her sweetness always made me smile. Towards the end her pain and discomfort made me realize I could not put her through anymore suffering.

My heart aches, my tears flow and then I remember all of you. I remember all the generosity and kindnesses. I remember the help with regulating her and the advice so freely shared and I want to thank you all once again for all you did to help us and then me when I let her go.

I have since received some cards from the vets who were involved in Morgaine's care and treatment. They all agree that she had some major neurological issues which were probably not the result of out of control FD. In fact, the vet who was primarily responsible for her care feels that her diabetes was pretty well regulated. I wanted you all to know this since so many here are working so hard to regulate their kitties. Morgaine's condition was more complex than FD. I will probably never know exactly what was happening to her except that it was time to let her go, to fly free and stop suffering so much.

Right now it is still hard for me to come here and visit condos. Let me just say that I hope you are all doing well. I think of you all and your kitties and dogs, often. Please know that I pray for well being for everyone here daily. I will check in again, soon.

My current plan is to replace my carpeting and adopt another kitty. My apartment manager is very supportive and she will get me the reduced rate she gets for all of the vacant apartment here when they replace the flooring. She is also willing to consider something other than carpeting if it fits the apartment well. So, my options are pretty wide open.

Be well and give those sweet kitties of yours scritches from me.

Rosalie!! So great to hear from you. :-D I have thought of you often since you lost your sweet Morgaine. I think it is really great that your vets sent you cards and reassured you. It is natural to feel some guilt in your situation, but we all know you did everything you could - and then some.

That is really good news that your apartment manager is going to work with you on the flooring issue, and that you are considering opening your heart to a new kitty. No one can replace Morgaine, but a new baby to love can certainly fill a hole in your heart.

We totally understand that you are not ready for condo visiting - no worries there. Nice to see an update though! Take care of yourself. cat_pet_icon

(((((rosalie))))) so good to see you!

i've thought of you often and hoped you were healing. it takes time - and you had such a special bond with morgaine. i admire the lengths you went to in caring for her despite your own health issues.

you have so much love to share, i hope at the right time you have your heart filled again with a new little furry purry one.

It is so good to hear from you. It will take more time, but being open to rescue another cat is a tribute to your strength and wonderful legacy to Morgaine's memory.

Thank you for posting a condo and letting us know how you are doing. We miss you very much. There will be a kitty who will find you when the time is right. :YMHUG:

So nice to hear from you Rosalie. I have also been keeping you in my thoughts and hoping you were doing okay without your special girl. It is lovely to hear that you may soon let another little furbaby into your heart and your home. No one will ever replace Morgaine but a new furbaby will surely help your heart to heal. Take care and let us know how things progress.

Hi Rosalie!

Rosalie,

It is so nice to hear from you. I'm am sorry about your pain, though. I'm not all that good with words, but I can offer :YMHUG: :YMHUG: I'm glad your apartment manager is understanding. I hope we hear from you again, soon.
Thanks for writing to us. We miss Morgaine, too.

Rosalie, I’m so glad to hear from you! Healing does take time. I hope the release you granted Morgaine brings you peace. There is a very special kitty out there, looking for a very special mom. When the time is right you will find each other. :YMHUG:

So nice to hear from you, Rosalie! I'm so glad to hear that your grief is getting a bit easier to bear... it is truly amazing the bonds we can forge with our animal companions, and I know too well the sense of loss that can come when it is time to let them go. Know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers and sending lots of hugs from afar!

It sure is nice to hear from you! I am sure you are still grieving over the loss of your little one .. your bond was very special with her .. I'm glad your manager is understanding about the carpet and is willing to work with you ... and I'm sure you'll find that perfect kitty before to long .. I know it's hard to come back here, but when you do find your new found furbaby, please let us know .. you know we will be wanting to hear all about her! (or him!)

Hi ((((Rosalie)))),

It is so nice to hear from you. We all know how difficult it is to go on with everyday life after a beloved companion has passed. I'm very glad that the vets took time to reassure you that Morgaine's problems were more than FD complications. And the news that you will soon find that special kitty who is waiting for you is so welcome. That lucky kitty will never replace Morgaine in your heart, but he or she will have a special place all his own.

Thanks for visiting LL and please keep in touch.

Ella & Rusty

I have been thinking about you and it is great to hear from you. Know that we are all thinking about you. New carpet will be good. That is great that the landlord is working with you on it. We put down laminate and love it. ((((HUGS))))

Hi Rosalie,
It is always good to hear from you, and it is great to see you posting. I wish you all the best as you continue with your healing process and with your plans for the future. Morgaine was special to all of us, and you are as well. I hope that you continue on visiting us, as you are part of our family here.

oh anne, so very true. i think they choose us if we make ourselves available. i have puzzled and puzzled over the past 12 years on why punkin would've sat in a cage at the shelter for 3 months before i found him. he melted into my lap and purred like crazy. he was simply beautiful with gorgeous eyes and long hair. now why wouldn't he have been adopted the first week he got there? wouldn't anyone adopt a cat like that?

then when i took him to the new vet, i said something about it, and she said "maybe because of the diabetes" and i said "but i wasn't diabetic then." her response - "but he was going to be."

made me really stop and reflect. we all know not many people would be crazy enough to have dealt with punkin's issues - just the small number of people in the world who post on FDMB - us.

i think another kitty in the universe will find you and bring you much joy, rosalie, and i'll be excited to hear about it when it happens.

Rosalie, I've been MIA around here for the last month or so, and missed Morgaine's passing. I'm so very sorry for your loss. :YMHUG:

You have been missed! I'm so glad you are able to visit. It's good to hear that you are thinking about the future and your heart is open to being shared with another furry companion.

You do realize that you are part of this family and there will always be a place here for you, don't you?

You are all making me cry, in a good way. Thank you for all the love and support and the welcome.

I will be sure to come by and post a picture of my new kitty when I find her. Yes, my heart is open and has always been. Being alone is not comforting at all. I can honor Morgaine and love another kitty at the same time so in the near future I will be posting my new addition. I have contacted a shelter and they are interested in working with me to find me the right kitty for me. I would consider 2 if I had the room for another LB but we shall see.

Meanwhile, I am so glad I came by here to say hello. You ALL so understand my grief and my heart because you ALL love your furbabies as I have loved and will love mine. Cats are special creatures, angels in fur, who come to us to open our hearts and teach us about so much. Their beauty and elegance as well as their endearing reciprocity of love and loyalty always made me feel such profound awe. I have always been mesmerized by their being and not having a sweet kitty to dote on is very hard for me. So, sooner rather than later for me. Meanwhile, Morgaine's photos adorn my home and her picture is still my desktop screen as it has been for all these years. Her memory and spirit will live on in my heart and soul forever. I know we will be reunited some day. For now, she is with Merle, my other cat and Weegie, my beloved Yorkie. And, I am quite sure my parents have embraced her as well.

Thanks again to you all. What a lovely group of people you are!
