171 after 1hr stall, 1u given.

I'm falling asleep on the sofa, so I gave her a chickensh*t dose. Looks like the 1.8u was too much for that black!
 
You are doing such a great job with her wild numbers, Kimi. It is so wonderful that she is at lower levels and that you have figured out the way to get some insulin in for those lower numbers.

It looks like 1u was too much for the AM dose. She was sleeping happily with me when my alarm went off for +6 so I let her sleep instead of testing her. Now I'm kicking myself and wondering how low she went while I was snoozing away. She was still sleeping at my side when my regular alarm went off though, so I don't think she went into a dangerous level...

I'm going to be home again tonight, should I just give her another little dose? Maybe .8u or squint for .9u?
 
326 for AMPS, 1.5u given

Looks like .9u wasn't quite enough to hold her nice blues. Going by how 1.8 was too much for her last pink (and my habit of sleeping through nadir) I'm giving 1.5u a try.

It sure is! The 1.5 wasn't enough this morning though, she's back in red again - of course I slept through nadir testing again too :( But 1.8 seems to be too much. I'll try 1.7. I'm watching college football all day today so I'll be around to monitor & test

That's why I went down to 1.7u. It's so hard to decide what dose to try with her ;)

She's definitely not feeling as good being back in the higher numbers though, she's hanging out on her chair in the kitchen instead of sitting on the sofa with me. Her temperature is normal and she's not showing any other signs of being sick. I haven't caught her in the litterbox to test for ketones today but I'm watching for her to go.

I'm not sure this is enough, but I don't want to base this dose on yesterday's since I'm pretty sure that was a bounce I was fighting.

She's making you exercise your brain, Kimi, but she's doing well. :) All of us owners of tricky kitties have to learn to be "dose whisperers".
 
Just keep muttering "data collection, data collection". The good news is that you can get her back in good numbers. Overall, she is doing very well.

Not as bad as I feared, but I really wish I hadn't forgotten to reset my alarm. I would have liked to see where she went with that dose...

I'm falling asleep but don't want to skip a dose while we're on such a nice roll! Given that .9u was a bit too little for 182 a few days ago and 1u was too much for 171 I'll give .8u a try. I made sure my alarm is set properly for nadir this time :p

Looks like 1.4u might have been a bit too much too... But at least she's in safe levels and sitting next to me on the sofa purring up a storm!
 
So an hour and a half later we're in red. Can you say "bounce" :(

411 @ AMPS 1.4u given

I stuck with the 1.4u since this is clearly a bounce. I checked three times, twice with AT strips. 411, 418 and 406. I went with 411 since it was the middle test on an AT strip - the 418 was on a FS.

I didn't expect her to come down from the bounce so quickly or I would have set an alarm for nadir (that I'd likely just sleep through :()

13/11 looked like a plan until today. I really didn't expect 1.4u to be enough for that red. Hermione likes to keep up guessing!

Less bouncing and increased sensitivity is good news!
 
99 for PMPS!

Now I'm in a bit of a pickle. She's too low for a chickensh*t dose, also she's headed down! But if I feed and wait 2hrs she'll be in the deepest part of my sleep cycle for AM. I'm home tonight so I can just watch her and wait.....?

How about 0.2 or 0.4 u as a CSD after you test again in maybe 30 minutes? Better than no shot and probably won't make her go too low. Also, maybe a small meal for her before you go to bed?
 
Well she's back up a bit. But now we're in the place where I'll be dead to the world in 12 hours and almost guaranteed to sleep through shot time. I did give her a spoonful snack of her regular canned food after the last test just because she was pestering me for food. I will fall on my face asleep in about 10 hours, so maybe a tiny dose (.2 or .4) will work out ok for a shot then?

I think a tiny dose will be fine - you choose how much.
 
I waited another 30 min and gave her .4u. My other cats are resigned to waiting until Her Highness gets to eat ;)

I'm going to go ahead and give her half her meal and wait 2 hours. I'm not comfortable giving her even a drop of insulin since she seems to be surfing along in the low blues. Also it will be past my sleep "dead zone" for AMPS.

That would be amazing, but I'd be happy if I could just get and keep her regulated :cat:

177 2hrs after a small meal and 15hrs since her last insulin! I gave her .6u - a few days ago I gave .8u at a similar bg but I'm feeling like she needs less today.
