Help with next Lantus dose due in 30 minus, update and advice

Yuki was started on Glargine on 23/5 morning - 1.5 units BID. Before that she was on Caninsulin/Vetsulin 2 units BID. Today she was given 1.5 units Glargine at 7:30 am.We managed to take two readings today (24/5).

12:30 pm: 4.9 mmol/L

6:45 pm: 1st reading (possibly error - as test strip was inserted into machine after blood was put on test strip) was 9.8 mmol/L
2nd reading - with another test strip was 6.9 mmol/L
3rd reading - with another test strip - all from same prick - was 7.7 mmol/L
All these 3 readings were within one minute.

So, we were wondering whether to give her insulin (next dose due at 7:30 pm) and if so, what dose.

Gave yuki 0.5 units for pm dose. I will try my best to get regular bg readings. But in the meantime any advice that you can give me is most welcome. Thanks Arathi
