Help with high reading

Hi there have 8 yr old male cat diagnosed with diabetes 4 weels ago has been receiving half unit of lantus twice a day for 2 weeks now. He has been eating purina dm cans for 4 weeks. He has put on weight and been a little more active. I started home testing his mmol was 27 when first diagnosed
Yesterday before food ans shot he was 20.9 2 hours later he was 18.7
Today he was 23.8 and 19.5 after 3 hours. Wondering what to change to hopefully get better #.

Likely a dose increase is called for. However, you do not have enough info as to what happens at about 6 hours, when one would expect the lowest BG. Most of use here record our BG and other info in a spreadsheet that can be viewed by others. Here is how to setup that spreadsheet

Also, there is no need for the prescription DM food. There ae canned commercial foods which are low carb. A lot of us caretakers feed the pate Fancy Feast canned foods
